Profile of Dr. Eliza Giles
Dr. Elizabeth Giles received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She completed her clinical internship and fellowship at Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital, part of Jackson Health System, where she received specialized training in child and adolescent psychology and gained extensive experience providing therapeutic services across inpatient and outpatient settings. During her training, Dr. Giles contributed to the development of a DBT-informed milieu and participated as a member of a comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) team, where she was intensively trained through Behavioral Tech. She provided individual therapy, parent training, phone coaching, and DBT skills groups for adolescents and their families. She also conducted comprehensive psychological assessments for ADHD, learning disorders, and emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Dr. Giles has a passion for working with children, adolescents, and families experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges, including anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, suicidal ideation and behavior, self-injury, and emotional dysregulation. She provides trauma-informed care and has completed Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) training. By working collaboratively, she helps clients build coping skills, develop self-awareness, and improve overall functioning. Dr. Giles emphasizes a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for fostering confidence, self-compassion, and personal growth. She has worked with diverse populations across multiple settings and tailors evidence-based treatments to meet the unique needs of each client.
Her primary modalities of treatment include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and family systems approaches. She also has experience providing play therapy, crisis intervention, structured psychological assessments, and trauma-informed interventions.
