Profile of Karen Kassem, M.Ed/Ed.S.
Karen Kassem earned her Master's in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings such as outpatient clinics, private practice, county jails, and inpatient hospitals. Karen completed the Foundational Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) training through Behavioral Tech in 2020 and since then has been working with adults and adolescents struggling with emotional and behavioral dysregulation.
Karen works within the framework of evidence-based practices such as DBT and CBT, helping others navigate through interpersonal conflict, low self-esteem, emotional stress, and other difficulties. She incorporates mindfulness into her sessions and believes that the client is the expert in the room. Karen strives to create a non-judgemental environment where she accepts clients where they are at while simultaneously helping them work towards change in order to reach their therapeutic goals. Karen currently works with telehealth clients only.
